Less good: Renewal rates. Around 85% of .nz domains are being renewed before they expire these days. That number used to be closer to, or even higher than, 90%. If this percentage increases even a little bit, future growth will be easier to sustain. (3/4)

Year-on-year growth is usually pretty volatile, and 2023 was especially grim. But the namespace has turned a corner and added 1.0% y-o-y the last two months. If domain names are a sign of confidence (new businesses appearing online, for example), then this is a good sign. (2/4)
