I'm not saying this is a chain of events that led directly to the aircraft crash in DC, that's probably reaching. But if I was going to undermine air traffic safety, this is exactly how I would go about doing it in the opening moves.

They're starting to find out what reality feels like with Minimus Mango in charge. There are no accidents here, it's exactly what was intended. It doesn't give a shit about veterans in the slightest, or the police... or anyone else, really, unless they're immediately useful to it's needs.
