Mass combat often gets left as a vague end-game scenario in fantasy RPGs. In dungeon-focused OSR games, it’s sometimes omitted entirely.

But what if PCs are expected to be leading armies from level 1? That’s a big difference in who the PCs are and how they relate to the setting.
