the audacity of claiming protestors are being paid when musk literally pays people to vote is just beyond
Must’ve cost big bucks to pay millions of people in 1,100 cities.

Our new investigation in @wired.com shows the danger of Google's huge RTB security problem

This tax season, we're here to remind you about TurboTax's 20-year fight to stop Americans from filing their taxes for free.

Inside TurboTax’s 20-Year Fight to Stop Americans From Filing Their Taxes for Free
Using lobbying, the revolving door and “dark pattern” customer tricks, Intuit fended off the government’s attempts to make tax filing free and easy, and created its multi-billion-dollar franchise.

One thing that has surprised me is how easily access was given to DOGE (an over-exaggeration, but still). It was the proverbial engraved invitation for an IT team to say “lol fuck no” like they’ve always wanted/daydreamed about, and instead they said “you bet, hoss”. Where’s the BOFH?

As more tech CEOs seem willing to put their companies’ culture and technology at the behest of the US government, it’s good to remember which platforms have access to what data.
When Platforms and the Government Unite, Remember What’s Private and What Isn’t
For years now, there has been some concern about the coziness between technology companies and the government. Whether a company complies with casual government requests for data, requires a warrant, ...

As a millennial I’ve had a lot of time to adjust to catastrophes, and it’s been a long time since I had to step away from the news cycle because it was too much to keep reading.

But my house is pretty clean now, and so are all the pets that live with me (minus the chickens, stupid dinosaurs).

WATCH: While Republican proposals include further tax breaks for the ultrawealthy and corporations, other proposals would eliminate tax breaks for families with children, like the current tax credit for up to $2,100 in child care expenses.

The patient sharing the room with my family member in the nursing/rehab home was sent home this morning, and it has been the most peaceful evening here in weeks.

But “Wanda the Whiner” will live on in family lore, as I had never observed a person so unwilling to help themselves with ANYTHING.

I think the only thing that’s truly helping me get through *gestures broadly* is the fact almost every news outlet is paywalling their reporting, and I’m not going to pay these assholes to let me view their 2 page article surrounded by 6 pages of ads.

Tech feeds make me giggle.

“Do you think AI could improve nuclear power and make energy affordable?”

Corpo scum owns the big AI platforms, and the only thing they want to make is money, not make the world a better place.

I’ve gotten so accustomed to riding my motorcycle to and from work twice a week, that when I go a week without I start feeling…itchy to ride. This was the first time in a while I’ve looked forward to in-office days, just to get an hour of riding in lol

In the gas line, and the Accord in front of me (left side filler cap) is in line for right side cap. Pump opens on left side, won’t leave the line. Gets impatient after someone else pulls up, moves to the next line. 2 cars in front of me leave and I fill up and leave before he gets to a pump. 😂

Any time someone asks me about investing, I tell them “I bought the Gjallarhorn in D1 the first time Xur sold it, so I know a good deal”. It’s all the proof I need (and have). It’s also usually the last time they ask me. I’m sure it’s unrelated.
