With the controversies around new mining plans, it was also a chance to reflect on the possible futures of Sokndal — from labour to resistance, displaced communities, environmental violence and post-extractivism.

Anorthosite is abundant there, the same rock type that composes the bright side of the moon. In the mining of titanium, it is a waste product. In these moon-like landscapes, industrial ruins co-exist with dreams of optimization. And poetically, there are no tides on the coast.
