If a Democrat tries to capture idiotic one issue voters, by making promises that drive off other one issue voters, those Democratic voters reactively withhold their votes, either by abstaining (mostly), or voting 3rd party or even GOP. You can't nullify your vote when trying to eliminate a dictator.

As someone who has lived in rural areas at least half his life, I can easily tell you most of the US corn production is 'feed corn', engineered (originally by selective breeding, now genetically directly) to be ground into animal feed. Barely usable for human consumption at all.

In this capitalist US economy, they'll never let rounding keep working in consumer's favor. Prices will just be raised to even 5 cent increments. Won't be surprised if governments don't start configuring taxes to favor even to the nickel values, because they don't want to lose money, either.

And since a cent value less than a nickel will still work for credit and debit cards, the people most impacted by the inflation will be those who can't get credit or open a bank account, and live with cash only.

It's a fallacy that we 'lose money' because the cost of minting a penny is greater than a penny. Our currency on the whole far exceeds its cost in its face value. Ending the penny will definitely create inflation, and mostly for those can't get credit or a bank account.
