The wanton deployment of AI puts the old phrase "playing with fire" to utter and complete shame.

I've seen the Star Trek Strange New Worlds with @pattonoswalt.bsky.social

It's hillarious.

Isn't that awesome?

So @bsky.app what's the point of showing me a post I can't reply to, nor can anyone else? This is a conversational site, right? Or do you want it to become yet another disinformation and propaganda site? 'Cuz that's one great way to get there.

Went to watch the Made by Google event video, started scrolling to find them showing actual product... and there's like 5 minutes of that, and most of the rest of the hour and a quarter video is people rambling.

I go to mock them in the comments. Comments are off. Of course.

Cameron Monaghan and @markhamillofficial.bsky.social show up to a con to do a panel, and the staff asks "Is this a Star Wars thing, or just a couple of Jokers?"

When someone spews about something being 'woke' at you, ask them what the opposite of being woke is. To be woke is to have been awakened, of course - so they wish to be put to sleep, made oblivious to the reality of the world, to be living in the dreams of their sleeping mind.

If your account posts 'some can reply' posts, especially when following is a requirement to reply, and Bluesky puts you in my Discover feed - your account is probably getting muted, maybe blocked. I don't want to be spoken to without allowing me to reply. I'll stay outside the walls of your garden.

So, if I buy shares of stock in a broom company, are they called sweepstakes?

So if you point out how dumb it is to want a Senate that is just a second version of The House, and how someone doesn't understand how Congress works with its own checks and balances in representation, that person blocks you rather than debate it rationally. Lookin' at you, Mosie.

I understand people wanting to be proactive toward hate and trolls, but when there's no Reply field and a person's post says "some people can reply" - that really stifles conversation, and generates an echo chamber fast. You can always moderate as you go. Tell me why you are basically silencing me.

I think @bsky.app broke itself, at least the Discover feed. It started throwing me a bunch of sports crap, I told it I wanted less of that, momentarily it didn't want to show me anything, then all it shows me is cats. Worse things could happen, but I don't need this just for cats.

There is a special irony to the fact that the word "dinosaur" was coined in 1842. That's closer in time to the present day than it was to when fully modern English was established.

So, next time you call someone a dinosaur, it might as well be an indication of being trendy and new.

To the mainstream media and 'press':
Stop asking "Can Trump do this?" in your 'reporting'. Of course he can, because clearly nobody is stopping him, despite any laws or the Constitution to say otherwise. You have people to do research and simply say he isn't supposed to - but is.

So Canada and Mexico supposedly made commitments to border security to avoid tariffs. First of all, both had already made such commitments before, to previous administrations. Secondly, and more importantly, is that they're getting ready to keep people out in the next 2 years.

Remember, if you sit in the middle of the bus, everyone around you are just crumple zones.

Why do I feel like right now, somewhere, there's a Rowdy Roddy Piper type guy beating the crap out of someone, trying to get them to put sunglasses on?

Wait, the Inauguration was Monday... Should've happened by now, I guess.

We should start calling 'science fiction' 'future predictive fiction', because it has been so good at it so much of the time.

Hindsight isn't better than foresight, it is just more reliable.

Remind people of that as we experience 2025.
