Dissociation is dynamic, not static.

Patients often oscillate between hyperarousal and detachment.

Stabilisation tools:

➡️ Paced breathing & grounding.

➡️ Somatic/sensorimotor therapy to enhance body awareness.

These prepare patients for trauma processing.

I’m so proud of you! The combo of movement (when you aren’t restricting yourself or feeling embarrassed) plus vocal release (ie sing-screaming) is SO profoundly helpful from the somatic therapy lens if you have a space where you can do that. Or just go outside and dgaf lol
