Third generation Californian and former Angeleno, now living in the middle of nowhere.
Renegade storyteller with a fresh-ass mouth.
I have more books than you and have read them all. Twice.
Absolute banger of a sunset tonight. It was stand outside for 15 minutes with my mouth open before remembering to get a few photos kind of good.

I've been corrected: my annual flower surprise is a narcissus, not a paperwhite. That one tiny bloom has such a strong scent, you can almost taste it. It's like birthday cake and honey.

The only good thing about this godforsaken getting-dark-at-5-pm thing: I'm usually home just in time to get a photo of some pretty spectacular sunsets.

I did not inherit my mother's green thumb at all (in fact, she says I somehow got reverse magic and plants die when I look at them), but I have somehow managed to keep my little succulent family alive for a few years now. Love these little guys.

Getting some amazing sunsets out here on the edge of world. These were taken about 20 minutes apart. I love seeing how the colors shift and change.

There are plants putting forth little flowers in the overhead gutters at work. Don't forget to look up, there's beauty everywhere.

Came home after a lovely dinner with friends tonight and checked the news. So...how's everyone doing right now?

Very excited to receive my limited edition & signed copies of "Bright Dead Star" and the chapbook "Zoetrope Bizarre" by Caitlin R. Kiernan via Sub Press this week! I spent some money I didn't really have on them but SO WORTH IT.

Hail the traveler. My first - and favorite - petsitting client, Rocky, passed away over the weekend. At 20 years old, this kitty boy was an orange ray of sunshine and never failed to to bring me every damn toy he had to throw, even though he never learned to fetch. See you over the rainbow, Rocky.

Look at the mud puppy! Today's critter: a Giant Pacific Salamander, found by one of the crew at work while out mowing today. Apparently these guys have a voice box and can actually bark when they're disturbed.

The best Xmas present I got: this antique iron book stand with a similarly aged giant dictionary on top. The crisp vellum pages, the old book smell, the crackly sound of the pages turning...divine.

I love our local fire crew. We have an old phone booth behind my work and some of the Cal Fire folks next door came over and dressed it up. We all need a little Superman sometimes.
