It's weird that we've ceded control of the distribution and long-term storage of culturally significant digital artifacts to capitalist interests. Institutions and non-profits like archive.org are better stewards, but this is a shared social responsibility and centralization is inherently risky.

AmuseWiki has some nice properties for supporting a personal digital archive, with a text focus. Flat files, git storage, clean conversions to PDF and EPub, and a book builder. Kinda would like to see something more Markdown-esque as a source format though.
