) so it would do a lot of bad publicity if they get rid of them which is the opposite of likely they want. Though who knows - I really feel for all the devs and the uncertainties this places on them, especially with the current state of the industry

Honestly hard to predict what will happen - Saudi Arabia is doing a lot of these things in entertainment for marketing purposes to white wash their reputation as it where, and EA are known in the industry as having some of the most LGBT friendly franchises (The Sims and BioWares games

I just think it’s jus easy to blame EA but EA didn’t make BW sideline DA and SWTOR which were the more profitable side

I think they struggled on how to market it, but that’s not going to be the reason that DA got put on the shelf for a decade. Though honestly even games media has a favouritism towards ME compared to DA as well even though DA is more successful so that could be part of it

Not just Dragon Age either that they treated shittily . SWTOR was making good money during that time frame and they treated that team badly and took their resources even if that revenue was likely keeping BioWare going

It’s certain leadership during a specific period (MEA and Anthem) who happened to be from the Mass Effect team…. They seem to prioritise their projects

What mainly annoys me about people wanting to go back to the “dark fantasy” of DAO for Dragon Age, it’s always as you said the city elf and broodmother examples they point to , it’s always the use of rape of women that they point to, it’s tiring

If he properly reckoned with and faced what he did to the Titans , he would have to see them and dwarves as proper people and fully accept that his actions, and that of Mythal who he put on a pedestal are monstrous. He will never fully accept that

I think part of it is that Solas still does not fully see non-elves as full people. It’s a legit issue in Inquisition, and it’s not something he ever really comes to terms or faces with in Veilguard either.

even though they were likely complaining about it when it came out too. Many Fans are going after the feeling of first discovering something which they can never be able to get again. Maybe why they particularly don’t want to engage with a theme of letting go of the past as it can’t be had again

I kinda wonder if it’s that people don’t get the theme or do they not want to get it deliberately- fandom is in general trapped in nostalgia, they don’t want to let to go. It’s why whenever a new game comes out you get so many fans saying the last game in series was far superior

Honestly I find it weird that again and again the devs have stated the themes very clearly when discussing the game, probably the most of any DA game and yet so much of the player base who are active on social media and would have read these takes, still don’t get the themes

Tbh pretty sure BioWare is the only big RPG company that actually does player choice across games, such a shame no one else will really do it :( love that , makes the hole game feel extra special , for me anyway

The questlines for the areas are different and the questlines for Neve and Lucanis are different too - you don’t get certain content depending on the city you pick
