Trump is using ICE thuggery & his takeover of the National Guard, to provoke enough violence in cities to allow him to invoke the Insurrection Act so he can declare martial law, terminate our constitutional civil rights, suspend Congress & cancel the 2026&2028 elections to rule as total dictator.

Candidate join the US?Alternatively, Canadian provinces are more independent than US states. Consider the scenario that each of the 10 provinces join as a separate state giving them 20 senators and collectively over 50 representatives in the House. How Would that affect the balance of power in DC.

Canada join US?  Someone should remind Trump that with 41 mn in population, Canada would be entitled to more seats in the US House, then California with only 39 mn. Given Canadian anger at Trump’s trade war are those 50+ new Reps likely to vote with Trump‘s Republicans or with the Democrats?

As a former scientist who had to compete for grants, I find it shocking that people would think that the NIH would just fund random research. You've got to justify the heck out of your grant to get funding.
