The thing is there’s only a handful of them who have any proof that they would be at those levels in any other field.

Sometimes it seems with Parliament that as soon as new MPs join their older colleagues run then through all of the dodges. I think so many of them genuinely believe “I work so hard so I spills get some perks”.

I’ve worked at so many companies where the CEO would stand up at the quarterly meetings and if the quarter had gone well it was down to their genius whereas if things were going badly it was all about market conditions and factors beyond our control. Just seemed random to me.

I’ve worked in so many places (including as a freelancer) where I was expected to do mandatory anti-bribery training despite never being in a position to effect decisions meanwhile MPs just treat it as a perk of the job 🤬
