@jayrayner1.bsky.social gutted to find out via my wife reading your book in the sun today that your inspiration to become a restaurant critic wasn’t the story you told me to write in 1986 which gave me my first byline in Leeds Student “Sarnies War” but something else entirely. Ruined my street cred!

@meetanostomate.bsky.social I’m day 11 post surgery to reverse my ileostomy. I still have a very distended stomach, but got home from hospital yesterday and slept properly for the first time last night. Now to build myself back up - any tips from anyone who has been through similar? #stoma #postop

I love this film so had slight trepidation going to the Stavely Players performing a radio play of it. I needn’t have worried - it was fabulous and the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness is beautiful!
