To avoid a JR is a good thing! Long running sagas like this one need traceability of decision making. Some decisions are voidable by a successor minister, this one could have been null ab initial.

Love to have a natter on span of control (I think @stefanstern.bsky.social is the go to on this one) but wouldn’t disagree with you just think in organisations so much bigger than the rest of the market this decline is quite common.

The problem is that BBC News is, to some extent, one of size. One supporter described it as a behemoth. Large organisations make more mistakes than small ones: Discuss. Farage has spotted this truth and thus has the prescription- shrink it.

Gmail should encode A.J.P Taylor on Question Time “I'm sorry, I don't have an opinion on that".

History may record Dom as a DEI inspired hire. An insider posing as outsider, the most basic identity heist in politics.

Dementia-friendly fonts for signs should be sans-serif, clear, and easy to read, like Arial or Verdana. Avoid serif fonts with decorative "curly bits". Use a large font size (at least 14pt is recommended for print), a simple font and ensure high contrast between the text and its background.

Well since there’s an imminent job swap of Nandy for Lammy, perhaps you can ask the new Culture Secretary to demand one.

NL has been patiently explaining housing law for a long time. Unfortunately even experienced landlords and tenants use language and terms in more imprecise ways. This disjunct is where advice finds social media a barrier to understanding.

At the time (not an MP), KB was a software professional - so that’s all right. Oh wait on, an IT *professional* who didn’t know her liability under the 1990 Computer issue Acf? Must make her a candidate for high legislative office.

It is staggering that most/all FTSE 100 companies either outsource or have a team managing job relocations but the UK government think ministers DIY.

I saw “if…” with my school mates when the deputy head sat in the row in front. He walked out after we started digging into his seat back and saying “see what will happen”.

Yes to substantial income tax rise plus a plan for substantial tax reform - *fairness* can be real. Council Tax, local sales tax etc.

I would hope there are those in the Tories who have institutional memory and are looking for the next Stanley Baldwin (and have already discovered who that is?).

Polling has altered our whole mindset of how to measure. I am just looking at an AI test criteria doc that proposes measuring bias by “person of colour” (not that we ask clients their colour nor record it). I feel transported to Faulkner country.

The lesson from both Heath and Thatcher (and Truss) is not to adopt a programme your electors didn’t see coming unless global events dictate. (I think that is what Stephen’s parrot said).
