I sold my creepy/nostalgic claw machine story to this anthology, funding now: bit.ly/4iGkNnV

Editor Elizabeth Mitchell: "The claw machine ... gives omens of death, portals to other dimensions, plushies that aren't what they seem, eggs filled with things you'd never imagine, and so much more."

I'm (re)discovering my love of flash fiction by diving into the Flash Frog archives. I'm so, so grateful places like this exist. I just sent a "donation" as my subscription payment.

I was reminded to continue my short story love fest her, seeing a question about 2024’s impactful stories from @mcflycahill90.bsky.social, so try on The Bourbon Pen and this strange and lingering story from Alex Jennings www.bourbonpenn.com/issue/33/fat...

Sometimes when I sleep, I wander too far from my body—or at least that’s how it feels. It’s like swimming out to sea, being caught by an undertow and knowing you’ve gone too far to make your way back ...

I've archived my recipes off NYT Cooking, my last connection to the Gray Lady. She failed us this past year. I mourn her, but I mourn for the many people she has endangered more.

I'm subscribing to local papers now, and watching to see where the journalist who left WaPo and NYT land.

A couple years ago I researched my followers on Insta, where I rarely post. 902 were bots, fake, or scam accounts, which I blocked. the 98 remaining were friends. Apparently the % was right: 90% bots on platforms with public profiles. Got my first catfish follow here today. Blocked. That's the plan.
