It's bad tactics because it loses the Left in maintaining a untied front. It's bad strategy because it it values the centrist donors' feelings over the engaged party base. It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what kind of politics is needed in this moment.

...desperate for basics like medicine or housing--without those things, people don't focus on the other rights they also deserve like quality of life, education, equality under the law. Starving people don't riot (until, of course, they do).
