The struggle is real

My sister was an avid cruiser and was quickly approaching her time. She had asked me several times to cruise with her, and I declined. With her impending death, I wanted to tell her what I thought of cruising, so I went. In the art gallery on board, my eye fell on a painting that left me confused.

I started writing a book on a dare from my terminally ill sister in October 2014. I had no outline or plot or characters even. But I wrote until March of the following year until I could no longer make the story work. 325 pages with no end in sight. So I put it aside until I saw a painting in May.
