I don’t mind the line that much but I do think the series gives plenty of support for this reading. It does read like something Luthen would do, and it makes sense to me that Cassian both believes the sentiment and finding the process of putting these ideas into cheesy one-liners distasteful

As with other lists Solo would rank several spots higher here if they’d just cut the scenes explaining the lore of every tchotchke in the Falcon

The thing I appreciate about the BLCU is how they let their directors show their personality, none of that cookie cutter stuff

I think this comes pretty close to the ask. My guess is people want a single feed that both shows everything their friends post, in chronological order, and also mixes in a non-trivial amount of interesting posts from strangers

Oh that's interesting. Makes sense to see him mention Lynch in talking about it. It's a cliche to call a dream scene Lynchian but I do think that scene in Weapons manages to capture something of Lynch's feel without being an out-and-out homage.

The fact that we don’t have a sense of if her stubbornness is going to be helpful or not points to my main question so far: Is Carol the individual this new world needs as it grows? Or is this new world what Carol needs? I love that we don’t know yet. Bold, risky writing.

Weirder still the episode that gets closest, SNW’s Under the Cloak of War plays things totally straight but also guest stars Clint Howard, which is a really mixed signal for how serious the audience should take things. He’d be a great Blake sort in an actual trek MASH

I remember this hair! We only get so many members of congress actually arrested for corruption and I consider it a civic duty to remember them, I have a little high school basketball court where their jerseys hang in infamy. But you'd think the name alone would keep him in the public consciousness

Haven't seen it yet but I'm not too surprised to hear the acting was underwhelming. Sometimes, like in Crimson Peak, his directing makes for mannered dialog that fits the rest of his style. But sometimes it falls flat. Everyone's line readings in Pacific Rim are completely bizarre

Yeah I hadn’t heard of it before either, I’m sure that’s why stuck. That and I played the game a half dozen times doing all three paths and exploring every corner of it.

Sounds like you need a Southern Hemisphere Halloween on like April 30th to anchor some proper autumn horror viewing. Honestly I don’t think that would be too hard to pitch to Americans either, the bar for starting a new consumer friendly ritual here is lower than you can imagine

I’ve always wondered about the title. Donald Sutherland is so clearly not the actual main character, so I can’t tell if the title is the filmmakers trying to be intentionally ironic, or the studio desperately trying to make the movie seem more conventional for marketing purposes
