It hasn’t been specifically studied, someone needs to. I know there is one anthropologist who believes marriage has led to lower fertility in the population for a multitude of reasons.

It’s just a hypothetical, but Natural Selection is a real thing and our right to select a mate has been forcefully interrupted for a long time, that has to have a consequence. I know this is dangerous territory. I wonder if anybody has done work on it.

Isn’t evolution driven by our ‘pickiness’? Maybe one of the issues is that for millennia, we weren’t allowed to fully exercise that pickiness. Now that we finally can, we’re left choosing from a group that hasn’t been naturally selected over all that time.
