Medicaid can be called different names in different states. In California it’s called Medi-Cal. in Texas it’s called STAR. In Missouri it’s called MO Heathnet.
Just like the ACA name confusion with Obamacare, this means some folks may not realize their state managed insurance is really Medicaid.
