Forgot to make this post yesterday.

For the second time, fedi was down for a prolonged period of time and all data was lost. I got a bit too trigger happy with sudo rm -rf....

It's back now though, and better than ever!

My Bluesky PDS has now been migrated to bluesky.sillyjune.xyz instead of bsky.sillyjune.xyz

Hopefully there should be no issues; I've migrated to a new PDS that's easier to manage and in a VM instead of a docker container.

I should really think about moving away from Cloudflare for my stuff

It's a necessary evil for my infrastructure, though. My internet is super slow and the caching it does works wonders to reduce the load across everything. It's still slow either way, but slightly better with Cloudflare.

All of these look super awesome.
I'm not too interested in VR but the tech looks awesome. Could see myself buying a steam machine if it has upgradeable RAM (Even more so a CPU socket, but that's a long shot).

I love my deck's controls so I might have to treat myself to the controller. Can't wait!
Announcing: New @steampowered.com Hardware, coming in 2026:

Alongside my Fediverse instance, I've just migrated my website (sillyjune.xyz) across to the new server!

Sorry for all the downtime across all my services over the last week or so! I am working on some big things behind the scenes and it has been quite rough to get working.

Hopefully the worst of it is now over.

do you ever just tell yourself you're going to do something tomorrow but realize you never started 4 months later

I *was* hoping on upgrading my server's RAM sometime early next year or in the next couple months but unfortunately prices have skyrocketed in the last week or so.

Unsurprisingly, from what I gather, it's to do with AI datacenters.

Just a little heads up - My infra will be down for maintenance sometime this week.
I'm doing a case swap for my server to mount it to a rack instead of having it freestanding, and improving some network routing while I am at it.

It would be interesting to see some more x86 Linux tablets in the market/Microsoft surface esque devices

I'd love to have a Ryzen 7xxx or newer Linux tablet/laptop hybrid, it would be unbelievably useful

With the recent unfortunate news about @frame.work and the business openly financially supporting racism, got me thinking about whether similar products exist

Surely they can't be the only ones out there creating repairable tech? I wonder if there are any overlooked players in this market?

Thinking about developing a chat application again...
It's something I've done in the past but I have struggled to make it actually practical.
Once was a tech demo for my own custom network protocol, which was the most successful..

After using it for about a week or so, I am enjoying tangled.sh so far.
In some areas it feels a little lackluster in features compared to github or forgejo - But the platform is still early and what is in the platform is definitely and improvement

New release of Astra API is out - v2.0.0

It's pretty substantial with a bunch of changes to make the library more compatible with languages besides Rust.
