I also wonder how much of this extends to VTTs. Getting content on something like Roll20, "module" sounds appropriate as "everything you need to run X is here." While VTTs have typically been dominated by adventure fantasy RPGs, I'm seeing an increase in DG/etc content there. Maybe creating overlap?

Thanks for that link! I agree that when I hear "module", I tend to think "adventure module" as a TTRPG package. "Scenario" seems to be a more general term not coined by any company in particular, so maybe that's why it became more of a default for horror games that aren't very adventure-y.

I was going to mention Delta Green, but this exception always throws me for a loop. As we understand it, this primarily means no one can make any money from creating 3rd party content (scenarios, resources, etc.) besides Arc Dream themselves, except Patreon-locked podcast episodes
