I sense a real pattern of non-engagement with the few organizations whose activities draw me to Lansdowne. Maybe that’s the plan? Too bad, because I also shop along Bank Street every time I’m there.

I would be surprised if some of the cities, MADD and a few other organizations don’t pull something together.

Any idea who is working on the Charter challenge that needs to happen?

Sadly, this isn’t even news. Fans have been saying this since the beginning of the debate.

“Since the bicycle makes little demand on material or energy resources, contributes little to pollution, makes a positive contribution to health and causes little death or injury, it can be regarded as the most benevolent of machines.” Here’s the article by @carltonreid.com HT @sciam.bsky.social

Time, and knowing how much is enough. I can do the calculations but when I put it into a casserole (for example) I struggle to figure out if it’s enough. Also, when you say more for people who are very active, how much more? Right now I just guess.

I did the same but with rechargeable outdoor lights. I also have something like these as well as a helmet light, regular lights and a reflective jacket. I can be seen from the ISS*. (Car drivers are not on the ISS so they sometimes claim they couldn’t see me). www.amazon.ca/Activ-Life-M...

And sometimes they are just kittens because cats can get pregnant very young. That was the case with Pandora (rear). Her four kittens were adopted by friends and I took her. Mambo (left) probably wandered away from her barn home, and Milo is a true shelter cat with no back story.

The original article has a link to an article that makes it pretty clear that microplastics from tires is a particularly problematic form. www.port.ac.uk/news-events-...
Car tyres shed a quarter of all microplastics in the environment – urgent action is needed
Every year, billions of vehicles worldwide shed an estimated 6 million tonnes of tyre fragments. These tiny flakes of plastic, generated by the wear and tear of normal driving, eventually accumulate i...

He did it for the 401. Didn’t work though. Everyone just goes faster.

That’s just sad. I work for a city facility and we had our monthly training rescheduled from today to avoid the game.

Most, not lost!

Isn’t that what the Ford government did on the 401? When the limit was 100, 120 used to be enough to keep you in the left lane, passing almost everyone. Now that the limit is 110, that’s the slow lane speed and lost people are going 130 or more.

Especially by car it is a pain to get there! I sometimes go by bike, but need to plan my route carefully to avoid Bank Street itself and find bike parking on side streets - Bank Street is too scary.

Great video. I’m a PWHL season ticket holder. I bus (6 or 7) to Bank at Queensway and walk to Lansdowne on game day because it’s faster, even on narrow snowy sidewalks. It’s so annoying I rarely go to Bank at all - pity because there are nice shops and restaurants.

Did you know that cars on the Kitchisippi Mikan had/have cement barriers and strong metal pins so cars don’t hit each other when forced into a mere two lanes during construction? If only people outside of cars got the same consideration.

My lips are sealed. BTW, Mom has a typewriter I keep meaning to take pictures of for you. It’s also younger than anything you own, but I have no idea what to do with it.
