You meet them without the masks and they all have cool designs/distinctive

Then they put the masks on like at the end of their missions and you can't take them off till post game apparently. Like the rito has a stylish pomp and unique facial markings

It feels like that- it's just incredible seeing how low effort this one is. There's no objectives other than 'ko strong guy on the other end of the map' no dynamic changes, nothing. This is the most 'we don't fucking care' a game has ever been

Yeah, the second one was a three houses spinoff where Everyone Gets Along and you play as a dumb as rocks merc. It was like a weird fanfiction but it was pretty fun

She has a clear moveset in the first 2 stages and can tag team with you- there's even a empty character slot where they clearly had her planned- but nope she dies and it's canon so she isn't even playable.

Age of Imprisonment is a soulless husk of a game that tells a story that should have been in the main game instead of the slop we got with TotK. It's characters are bad to okay at best and there's no passion in it at all. Look up the cutscenes if you're really that curious

I'm nearing the end of the games story I think (about to storm the castle) and the music has been lame to the point I'm listening to podcasts over it, the maps have all been samey and it just kinda stinks.

It's obvious why nintendo did no marketing for this

Where you have to pause, open up your inventory, select the counter element and use it which instantly stuns the big general enemy and it's less about combat and more just 'use water/ice on the fire guy you did it!!'

It's weak and none of the movesets are all that exciting to use.

"Warriors games are repetitive" is a trope that's not entirely wrong, but AoI has 3 enemies usually and that's it. The three moblins (small boko, normal, big boss), hinox, and if you're lucky maybe a sludge like or a gibdo. They have elemental powers thrown in but that's its own issue

But the extra playable characters are all unvoiced random ass dudes and they all have copy paste movesets from the knight construct or taken from the sages rendering them mostly pointless as I can't even fathom why anyone would want to touch them.

The roster is as expected, a bunch of literal who. The sages are all bland nothings with the only outlier being the Rito and that's because he's like... one of the only nice birds (outside Kass) Nintendo has greenlit.

Knight Construct and Calamo are fun.
