Animal Crossing question. Just like, in general, but if you get invited to a villagers house is there **any** way to leave without them going 'where are you going... do you hate me...'

Been dealing with a situation where there was a project that I commissioned back in 2021 and really didn't start to receive till 2023 partially. Afterwards, the person I was working with went silent on me for about 2 years, not getting back to my messages. (1/?)
