Office had an update--the icons look like squishmallows now

I do use fountain pens and had the clear cover until I got a Moterm zip cover that now doubles as my wallet (cards are behind the Weeks). Clear cover worked fine, just wanted an all-in-one solution.

Haven't bought my 2026 Weeks yet. Hoping for better paper, but this year's was good enough for me.

This whole image is a gorgeous masterclass! Palette, test colors and doodles, final paintings have a mood and match the notebook cover, pen, and table..

Now I have tons of ideas for my weekend.

There's a dark blue Capless, though Amazon may not have your ideal combo of colorway, nib, and price. I wanted the deep yellow <M>, was around $90 USD on Amazon.

What other Pilots have you liked? I tried the Kakuno on a whim back in February and they're now about a quarter of my fountain pen fleet.

Pearl Blue is really pretty! Not scratch proof though🫤

I got a Pilot Capless Special Alloy <M> last month. It's had none of the drying or hard start issues that happen with my Jinhao 10s, also easier to check the ink level. Expensive, yes (all my other pens are under $40), but worth it so far.

Juvenile Red-tails. Dude and his bro have been screaming at each other constantly this week.

I post this as part celebration and part warning--finding the right pen-ink-paper combinations is an incredible distraction. Creative, collaborative, consuming.

But the "just trying" can get real, real fast.

Too bad for the Faber-Castell disappointment. The end result is neat though... there's an implication that the hair is such a vivid shade of blue that it reflects light in that color!

Tried both EF and F for the Jinhao 10, nice for the price and variety of colorways.

I've heard that the Pilot and Jinhao parts can be swapped. Now I'm looking at the "special alloy" Vanishing Point for my next pen since Pilot has more than those 2 nib sizes.

The crap, light colors struggle, haha. I started buying refills since I always used the blues and purple first.

I was fortunate to discover it in a multi-pack when I was interested in kon-peki (also a great blue). Any other favorites, of any brand?
