Bill Gates underestimates the perils of the climate crisis, but I agree with him: we shouldn’t sacrifice those alive now for future people who might never exist.

I was at a meeting where they asked us if we agreed to be filmed or not if we presented unpublished data. Naively, I said no because I presented a lot of unpublished data. But just in the row in front of me after my talk I saw someone put pictures of all my slides online on X (👿💩).

Why do some people block quote reposts? Is it because they don’t want comments to dilute their already immensely long message? Or is the system disabling quote reposts when the message is immensely long?

Journals that do not allow to oppose some reviewers ignore reality by implying that their editors are able to distinguish fair from unfair comments in every field.
