I've got no shortage of moral and practical arguments against conservative thinking but this is one that has risen the ranks recently, why would you bother with this exhausting picayune hidebound categorical thinking, it does nothing but make you angry and irritable, let it go.

Putting aside that if anything the loose fist was arguably more masculine in some caveman-logic terms since it was closer to a closed fist for punching, why would you waste time and energy and bipedal-ape anxiety on those meaningless considerations, I don't get it.

I saw a vid summarizing this draft by someone who read it entire and the takeaway was "not exactly good but better than the movie they did make because what wouldn't be?"

Also whatever you think of the three people she cited as sidelining targets, they're independent commentators who are already not on TV news. Is she going to get streaming and podcasts banned? If so, point in her favour, but doubtful.

Rise is pretty janky overall but the Caesar stuff is like dispatches from a better movie (Andy Serkis likely basically directed those scenes given the depth of planning and involvement mocap entails) so unsurprising that they pushed more in that direction in the sequels.

Really got to focus your critical senses to peg Rogue One as the narrow-miss failed attempted masterpiece it is because Andor makes it seem way, way better than it actually is.

I rate it a bit more than you do but yeah, this is my take:

I would say that I agree with Jamelle's first point as I find Last Jedi has higher highs and just slightly fewer flaws than Rogue One. Actually, maybe his second point too, Solo is probably better than any prequels and almost in a dead heat with Force Awakens.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”
