Yes, Trump and MAGA World believe so passionately in pulling together in hard times for the long-term good of the country. 🙄
Speaker Johnson & GOP say Trump isn't trying to end #Medicaid, just trying to make it more efficient by removing those who aren't eligible.

As if their budget cuts will magically identify those ineligible & will just effortlessly fall off Medicaid. To did it right, more $ will be needed, not less.

Never forget that Trump inspired his traitorous followers to do this.

You're a US citizen or permanent resident alien. ICE shows up at your home. They present you with papers. Demand your permission to search your home. Won't say explicitly if you're under arrest or not. What are your rights?

Philip Bump has advice. See my #GiftArticle via 'X.' x.com/sictransit34...

I'm watching an old episode ("Batman's Waterloo," S2, Ep. 54) of the campy 1960s TV show, "Batman." I recognized first the voice, and then the face, of Grace Lee Whitney, later famous as Yeoman Janice Rand in "Star Trek." That's Lee Meriwether on the left, Grace on the right.

The NY Post apparently got it wrong. Robert Sirico, brother of the actor who played Paulie Walnuts on "The Sopranos," is indeed a Catholic priest, but is *not* a cardinal and thus did not, could not have, voted for Cardinal Prevost to become pope. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_...

Three things I thought I'd never see in my lifetime:

* An American-born pope 👍
* A Black U.S. President 👍
* A U.S. President who is a convicted felon and sides regularly with a Russian dictator 👎

One thing I expected to see in my lifetime, but haven't (so far):

* A woman U.S. President.

Equestrian statue of LtGEN George G. Meade (1815-1872) near The Angle, where the Battle of Gettysburg concluded. Lee incorrectly assumed Meade would be overly cautious, as Meade had taken command of the Army of the Potomac only three days earlier. But Meade had commanded splendidly.

Interested in #LearningLatin? I created this matrix to help facilitate understanding how English & Latin treat verbs in the active indicative. Latin has no Simple aspect, so the Present Continual, Perfect & Future Continual do double duty for the Simple Present, Simple Past & Simple Future resp.

I’ve had my last government polygraph examination. I was at the Spy Museum in Washington DC today and thought if I had another, it would be fun to wear this lapel pin.

One reason I haven't fully migrated from X to Bluesky: Posting gift articles from the Washington Post is as easy as it could be.

It's a pain in the backside to do it on Bluesky, especially from my phone or tablet.

It’s rare that Trump shocks me anymore. But he did Tuesday night when he referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas.” Trump is a schoolyard bully who hasn’t the maturity or decency to understand that such insults are completely inappropriate in the well the US House of Representatives.

I've long suspected that the logic of anti-abortion rhetoric would invariably lead its proponents to propose treating abortion, as a matter of law, the same as homicide, with possible imprisonment or death penalty of women as a punishment. Now an anti-abortion faction is calling for exactly that.

I will use every tool at my disposal to protect this country from Trump. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring. I will speak out against authoritarianism until my last breath.

I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.
