The Brutalist movie review & film summary (2024) | Roger Ebert
It’s a film that turns in on into itself, winding its themes around its characters like a great American novel.

A good homage to 90s erotica, a little BDSM, a lot of wealth porn

Heretic (2024)
Solid⭐⭐⭐ Grant is terrific, as are Thatcher and East. Hope to see more of these two

🎥 Madison is a dream. Didn't even notice the run-time. Surprisingly funny, unsurprisingly poignant as it's a Sean Baker production.

Just OK. To be fair, it's not my kind of movie: plot-driven, very little character development. But the cinematography is gorgeous and the music/sound is terrific. Jude Law is a joy to watch in anything.

Disappointing.

A re-watch after many years. What's so strange about watching Antonioni's work is that he gives you a lot of time to think during the film, but I still can't put it all together until it's concluded.

Looking for work: I've been in communications for 20 years, the past 10 in internal communications. I've got recommendations, clips, and stats to back up performance claims. Those girls are months-old??? No one should take them, yikes
A mistake during IVF treatment led two mothers to give birth to each other's baby girls. After bonding with them for months, the families discovered the truth — and faced a devastating choice. Should they switch their girls? nyti.ms/3OtbJG5

🎥I liked this one. Highlights the vulnerability of women in a society that can be passive at best about danger to us. Also stupid game show works as a metaphor for all ridiculously bad choices for a woman who wants to be taken seriously.

Question for male podcast listeners! Who are some faves who aren’t as big as Joe Rogan yet? Who are some of the up and coming men in the male podcast space that bros are listening to? I want to know for a story!

Been thinking a lot about Godzilla Minus One and how the main political message of it is “the government will not save you from a monster“

Then it hit me: The big success of the US right over the last decade or so, helped by a cadre of centrists, is convincing a lot of people that the Democratic Party is whoever you think is the most radical, most annoying person on the internet. Therefore, voting Republican is a vote against them.
