I think the law is more so about trying to guide the path of an inevitable flood. If they lock down content from AI training, only specific, larger western companies like Google might avoid using it. All the less scrupulous companies that don't care about the law would just get an advantage.

People change though. Bill Gates for example was ruthless in his 20s and 30s, but by his 40s he mellowed and and started trying to solve global poverty and wipe out polio / malaria. He was trying to be the person in the linked tweet, but conspiracy theories caused him to be vilified instead.

I'm not into sports at all and I fully supported sportballSky. Are seriously people complaining about them? They need to get over themselves, and also... they can just mute any posts with sports related keywords very easily. I don't get any politics posts at all now thanks to that feature.
