There's something uniquely depressing about sifting through the "Sale!" tab of a tabletop gaming store's card game section, the ratio of utterly dead-in-the-water games is unparalleled. just an absolute slew of corpses, half of them directly murdered by parasites like alpha investments. Grim.

Recieved a copy of "Heiki Strike Alternative" for christmas and I finally got a chance to try it out. It's a fun game! Kind of a shame they never did anything else with it beyond the core game though, it feels like it had plenty of potential room for expansion.

First game-finish of 2025: Beyond Citadel.
It's aesthetics won't be to everyone's tastes and some of the later levels are quite easy to sequence break with your movement options, but otherwise it's an absolutely fantastic, hyper-violent FPS.

Recently developed an addiction to YOMI Hustle, I was a little skeptical that the turn-based system would come off as gimmicky but it's actually incredible amounts of fun. Easily one of the best games I was gifted this year.

Sometimes I learn something and I think "I need to share this with as many people as possible" and sometimes I learn something and think "Oh god I hope I never have to discuss this, I hope no conversation ever so much as brushes close to this, please let me take this knowledge to the grave"

My hot gaming take is that I think "MXT/gacha/battle passes are okay if it's just cosmetics that don't impact gameplay" is actually a terrible viewpoint and I'd rather the direct inverse.
