Wonderful. Thank you.
She's so hard to find nice surprises for. I'm stoked.
And yes - we're looking forward to the movie.

This is a sidestep to secret Santa I'm sorry, but my wife LOVES life after life. And hugely enjoyed Hamnet. So should I buy her The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox amongst her Christmas presents?

Pleasantly surprised mine has been studying, even whilst I...fell asleep on the couch.
He seems upbeat.
I'm more worried that whilst he does know his stuff, his handwriting is so poor, I'm not sure the marker will know he knows.

Ooh thank you. I have a family secret Santa I'm struggling with, and that huia pin looks perfect

This "and the faffing and fannying about (often followed by "Argh! I can't do this!")" looks like you are somehow peering in to our house.

I'm trying not to just go "Do it, or don't do it"

It's absolutely beautiful, but only if you have power/fireplace/heating

Haha sorry hadn't seen this before I posted.
Wife just stared at me as I went off on a rant about how you could generate roads as a solution to any of our problems right now and said "what do you want me to say?"
I'm not sure who national is polling? Owners of mainfreight?
October 27, 2025 at 9:24 PM
Skewed poll.
There was no option for ROADS. That's the government's solution, so how is no one seeing that as our key problem right now?

And I guess when "the queen" has been the same person your whole life, then isn't....
October 26, 2025 at 5:27 AM
Yes, or when they say "the queen" and then you see Camilla. Not sure how many years it will take my brain....

Looks divine

Our rhubarb grows enough to do our Christmas trifle, but little more. No matter what we do it seems to have decided what it's yield is.

If we ever get more I'll look in to that cheesecake, thanks

I just hate the noise of those pops. You'd think they'd be paired with good times, but...nope....
October 19, 2025 at 1:11 AM
I have just headed to bed after a long week...rain seems to be settling in sadly.
October 18, 2025 at 8:34 AM
Quite a PSA there.
I was already having trouble getting to sleep tonight, and now I've more things to ruminate about....
October 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM
I think we all need more completely unnecessary garlic ciabatta!!
October 5, 2025 at 8:29 AM
Beautiful vegie plants!
I've never really understood flowers, but can admire healthy fruit and vegetables all day!
October 1, 2025 at 9:11 AM
Yes. So bizarre.
I was "how can anyone think he tos the right answer?", but then also why would my brain dream this?
Wondered if it was one of those skim reads where your brain smooshes two headlines together....
September 30, 2025 at 12:25 AM
I read the headline and thought I'd just not properly woken up this morning....
September 29, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Instead of sitting laughing at Luxon in a fluoro vest over his suit [WTF?] I'm just gonna focus on the wholesomeness of your Dad busting a move 😀
Much better for the soul
September 22, 2025 at 4:24 AM
Oh Foxy!
You and Dad have made me smile broadly!!!
Wonderful.
