I’ve been working my way through “Sleep Over” by H. G. Bells. It’s a collection of fictional first-person autobiographical short stories documenting a time when no one in the world can sleep. It’s great, and it’s the only horror I can read before bed that makes me want to sleep.

Oh no! I’m so sorry!

Ugh. It reminds me of the mid to late 2010’s when Amazon Studios and Netflix were producing some legitimately interesting stuff, taking risks that the bigger studios were afraid of. But now, it’s largely slop. It’s all just the Big Tech pattern. The Doctorowian enshittification cycle.

This is terrible news. I never would have imagined A24 diving in like this.

I tried to manage with just the browser for a while, and it was really hard. Meta Business suite is a little better, but it has different posting requirements than the web app OR the mobile app. And only the mobile app can post to stories.

The very next day (Sunday, August 22nd) we'll also be at West Coast Comic Con, right up the street at the Maritime Labour Centre. This is one of my favourite conventions of the year! You'll love it.

By the way, the Shrimp Cult Car broke down in Kelowna last weekend, and is still there waiting for parts (thanks, Trump.) So I had to rent a car to drive here! Worth. It.
