Stopping at a welcome center when we crossed into North Carolina gave us info for the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's gorgeous! Autumn foliage and sunny skies. Mt. Pisgah is as high as we've gotten so far.

Popped into Tuckaleechee Caverns for an impromptu tour—we saw a sign!—on our way from Knoxville to Johnson City via the Great Smoky Mountains Scenic Parkway.

That red face was earned hiking in the Cumberland Plateau at the Big South Fork NRRA. Our national parks are a treasure. I'd like to enjoy our wild areas as much as possible before they're abandoned and/or sold for parts.
