It took me several tries last year, but I made it by the fall. It has been a big improvement for sleeping better and reducing anxiety. The big trick for me was finding a replacement. At first I needed something else to do with my hands.
One of the goals this year is to treat social media more like how we used to “go on the computer” in the olden days: brief and concentrated instead of diffuse over the course of the day

- I hate the lack of controls in YouTube. I want a YouTube competitor with proper parental and algorithm controls.
- I miss when companies/CEOs just wanted to be basic rich—not ruining the world hoarding money rich.

Mostly epub (switched from kindle to kobo). Some years ago I realized I had too many physical books and no space for them, so I switched to epub. Took a while to transition. However, somebody posted the most beautiful in home library the other day, and I'm rethinking all my choices😩.
are ya'll more of audiobook, epub (kindle), soft, or hardcover book folks?

Learned this morning that my son (10) thought that since the day after Christmas starts Kwanzaa that the day after Thanksgiving starts a Black holiday as well. The holiday? Black Friday! Celebrate the real Black Friday y’all (don’t spend any money though)🤣

My general trick to remembering this: if the word is preceded by "the", use effect, otherwise use affect. Effect is a noun, affect is a verb, so effect is often "the effect" vs I was affected by...

My 10yo is really into sports (ESPN and YouTube). I keep having to explain the apps and "games" they're talking about is gambling.
I do agree gambling is WAY too accessible now.
