Amazingly, my dad just found our original save files for Myst—I love that you can tell I didn’t get to endgame until I was prepping to play Riven in 1997, and that dad named his endgame file “Syztem Reset” to keep @hummeline.bsky.social and I from accidentally opening it:

I think that's a bit of a disingenuous comparison when the "historical" documents we could be talking about are more like 50 years old, not 4,000 years old, but also I'm a little biased either way 😅
