Hey all,
This is a totally DIY event. We’re putting it on in our own time with no funding or institutional support.
Anyone who can afford to pay, please do so that those who can’t afford to pay can attend for free, and so we can pay our speakers!

Keep seeing this argument “how are the greens any different from Your Party, both have transphobes” and the difference is that the Greens are an established party that needs to get rid of its bigots, whereas Your Party are establishing theirs as a core part of their identity from inception.

Ask any historian!
The thing is, times have changed and we shouldn’t judge history by modern ethical standards.
Back in 2024 penalising children because they’re in a bigger family through no fault of their own was understood as totally normal and completely fine.

Historical documents show that the people of Soviet Russia cried out for a world in which they weren’t issued drab, state owned dishwasher tablets and could instead go out into the marketplace to choose from a range of dishwasher tablets with exciting names like Quantum, Ultimate and Ultimate Plus

Always important to reflect on this.
Remembrance for things long past, that can no longer be changed, shifts the focus away from events in the present that we can influence

There really is no point to remembrance Sunday because everyone says they remember but like they actually don't do they because they keep supporting wars
Sorry for this freezing cold take, I am aware this is not a new thought

My 4d chess, galaxy brained plan is to dismantle them from within 🫡 (whilst enjoying the good weather, going to the beach a lot…maybe learning how to surf)
Trying to work out just how bad things have to get in the UK before I give in to this advert I keep getting to relocate and join the Queensland Police Service

Starting to think history will demonstrate that, of the two recent attempts to split from the Labour Party, Change UK will be understood as the more successful
Again, whatever the truth is, it’s a shit snow and the lack of transparency is there or all to see, she should have left when she accused them of being a sexist boys club - no one credible believes anything any of them say anymore

I just took the dog for a walk in a T-shirt in Leeds in November and he’s a whippet and he didn’t even need any of his chunky knitwear on cus it was so warm and all of the plants are starting to flower again but I managed to create an image of Starmer as an XL bully in 3 seconds on my computer

All the rhetoric about ‘doing what’s right not what is popular’ is the same recycled crap both major parties have been peddling now for decades.
They don’t even bother attempting to rephrase any of it. Just the same old lines, year in, year out.
It’s no surprise both are in free fall

At a time when Labour are failing to deliver on one of its key promises the Guardian publishing this drivel as an “exclusive” tells you more about the Guardian’s client journalism and how desperate the Labour right has become than anything else.

'AI things' are bad for young people and their mental health discourse 💯. However that discourse also produces 'yp are in constant crisis', 'yp have no resources', 'all online things are bad for yp'. Like 'hello'. If you're not interested in resourcing yp at least point them in the right direction

Wes Streeting's conversion to being progressive and styling himself as the new Mamdani didn't last long. Apparently, Maitlis on The Newsagents asked him why Labour aren't more like that and he turned into neoliberal jelly.

Labour came into govt promising growth, but have proven ideologically opposed to policies that would achieve this (ie. wealth tax, public sector spending)
As a last ditch attempt at growth they are now betting the farm on a tech bubble, no matter how damaging AI is to the public
