My favorite book of the year
A worthy winner. It raises a concern about modern society, explores a semi-plausible scenario (that Greer manages to make creepier than I imagined by the end), and it made me think.

A normal country would regulate this BS, but the US is not in the business of restricting things that kill people, including guns, SUVs, fossil fuels, and machines that convince people to commit suicide.
Adam Raine, 16, died from suicide in April after months on ChatGPT discussing plans to end his life. His parents have filed the first known case against OpenAI for wrongful death.
