11/22/63, JFK made a speech via broadcast to my school in Ft Worth. Later, during 2nd grade reading, the principal came by and called Mrs Bell to come out. She returned crying and told us JFK had been assassinated. One of those significant emotional events that has stayed so clearly in my mind.

I miss the 3+ months of joy and hope leading up to the election. That was already hard living in Texas but my energy had been renewed. Now in recharge mode and committed to keep going.
