Stellar year for celestial sightings: in my local area I saw Aurora & comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS and in Austin a total solar eclipse! A real thrill to see all three!
Sure miss seeing @nursekelsey.bsky.social here. Hope you’re doing well. Miss your work stories and running inspo

Freddy Mercury died of AIDS 33 years ago today. With modern medical technology, he likely would have lived. Never forget how much progress against major infectious disease has been made in a short time. We are at risk now of rolling back much of that progress.

Coffee outside has been a thing now for 10 years. And though I can’t be there to celebrate its milestone, I would like to acknowledge how good it feels to be part of something that builds human connections. If you haven’t been, you should come. It’s a good place.

Detail shots from my painting “the Night Shift.” I put so much love into this work, really its love I have for every living thing, including in this one- the night pollinators. Night insects such as moths pollinate 15% of plants. Leave your lights off a night so they can fly by the light of the moon

"If you’re a health-care worker who sees a patient in a mask, put one on for them. Don’t make them ask. Don’t psychologize them. Don’t betray the trust they’ve shown you. They’ve put their lives in your hands. Don’t take that for granted, it’s not an easy thing for many of us to do"
A plea to maskless health-care workers from vulnerable patients - Healthy Debate

Just any fyi, if you want to help a mutual get their news, message, or just a cute thing out into the bluesky, reshare them. Hearting them doesn't do this because there is no algorithm here. Get into the habit of reposting to boost others.

Here I am Bluesky! I like the blur in this snap on my morning walk. Walking clears my mind and starts the day in a good way.
