#poetry I wrote this while contemplating our constant use of “war” terms. Even my “AKF” tat (always keep fighting) is an example, though I approve of fierce self love. Everything is a battle where our goal is to “annihilate” “beat”“undermine,” etc., the “enemy.” Could we sometimes try another way?

Rather than focusing on what I want to change, I prefer to borrow the musical version of Resolution - moving from dissonance into consonance to find the “pleasing sense of stability & repose” in my life

I was not aware until right now that FDR is featured on the US dime coin because he started the March of Dimes in order to fund Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine research
As a gen x’er, I remember collecting for March of Dimes more than 30 years after the original need was over
