Quite a year of good fishing topped off by finding a random creek of a dirt road somewhere in Utah where I was able to catch some Bonneville Cutthroat Trout.

Well, I wasn't trying for a bass, but I ended up with the first bass caught for the year while out fishing today, a monster of a fish.

Not from today, but I realized I missed posting the small mouth bass that I was able to land on a recent camping trip on the bank of the Tennessee River (Pickwick area). First smallie for me.

Meet Elliott, she is our new 4 month old German Short-Haired Pointer (we've had her for well over a month, but my wife had a hard time picking the right name, haha).

Lucky enough to visit Wyoming this week. Beautiful state and the Rainbow Trout are pretty beefy.

Happy 4th of July! Made it to the Little Red River and the White River in Arkansas (I wish there was a Blue River to make the trip red, white, and blue). Great morning trout fishing, followed by extremely hot afternoon fishing. Stay cool out there!

Happy Juneteenth! Had the day off, so I biked 6 miles to some nice fishing lakes, caught a 1lbs bass (great fight), and saw the local buffalo herd in the sunset as I set off on the return ride.

Got to catch and release this beautiful longear sunfish today, it's scales were almost holographic.

Almost forgot to post an important update: the home made soft plastic bait did very well, landing 3 small bass on the first trial run.

Today, I took a stab at making soft plastic fishing baits from home. The first go was a success!

Added a new weapon to my fishing arsenal today, a Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT kayak. It's a blank slate for me to turn into a little fishing rig. Took it for a maiden voyage at Shelby Farms this afternoon.

I present Shed Rod, I managed to get a whole baitcaster set up by helping friends and family clean out sheds (the pole is from one shed, and the reel is from another). Now, if only someone had a bucket of fish in their shed...
