also fsr evs in this game without specific ev training just automatically skew to speed and attack so your guys that aren't speedy physical attackers are just doomed to have bad stats unless you want to grind evs for hours in a game where you're encouraged to swap your team out regularly lol

i still think legends z-a is a great pokemon game. i just feel like it should've pushed the battle system harder and done more fun & interesting stuff with it. legends arceus didn't have to be as innovative with catching because catching pokemon has always been the best part of the games since 1996

to put it in other words i don't think arceus had to do as much legwork with its central mechanic to make it a great game, but legends z-a had to do a lot more to make a game laser-focused on battling strong enough to stand on its own and it just didn't add enough to the system to make it so
