And brutally dead wives

I looked back up and saw… they were past my drive, just walking along.

And that weird light? Phone screen.

Freaked out, thinking black eyed kids, I saw my lighter, cursed my lack of an aerosol spray, and grabbed up my weeding glove. It’s got clawed fingers, think Freddy Kruger glove but blunter. Prepared to defend myself and my fresh cig from any ghosts or ghouls,

At like 2am, unable to sleep, I decided to be very healthy on my front porch. I had just lit a cigarette and was starting to pace when I saw a weird light at the end of my driveway, just kind of bobbing along. There were two shapes with it, smallish adult- or tallish kid-sized.

She and I had a call immediately after about an unrelated thing but she spent the first couple of mins making sure I was truly ok.

I really like this (newish) job. Now if only they paid more.. #WorkLife 3/3

But my boss heard (SM & Bosslady are both physically in the office) & abruptly joined the call and reset the tone, quick. Didn’t criticize SM on the call, kept it moving, all the while chatting with me on Teams
about why she joined and what she was doing. Turned out to be a productive meeting. 2/3
