Well… at least the statue finally got to lie down after standing for over 100 years. Guess it deserved a nap. 😏
Mistakenly but factually correct, most Confederate soldiers were not fighting for slavery but states rights. Honoring those dead via Civil War statues, even misplaced ones of soldiers who did fight for slavery, is not an American tragedy worth fighting over today.
