Solo camp at Millstone Point. Insulated wellies the footwear of choice!
Chilly night, & dawn a bit subdued, but lovely views of an otter. Years ago, I was involved in the rescue of an otter cub who was rehabilitated, then released on this coast. Wonder if this little soul is one of her descendants?

Word of the day is ‘quafftide’ (16th century): the season for drinking. Also a pithy way of declaring that it’s time to relax.

Works for hydropots (water drinkers) just as well.

Have any of you clever folks got any expertise in searching the National Archives / Lloyds Register? My tiny brain is about to melt!
(I'm trying to find what a ship called Pass of Balmaha was up to in Aug/Sept 1914... 🤯)
Thank you!

Epic views from the tallest mountain in Switzerland, from this summer. A climbers mountain, that offers a bigger challenge than Mont Blanc.

Between now and Easter they join the team summiting Helvellyn everyday to provide condition reports, keeping people safe on the fells.

By way of an introduction here, an interview/podcast thingemy with Dan Aspel all the way back in 2022. It’s a moment in time, and times change, but tells a tale and tracks a journey

Nice jog with Nuis 🐕 up Glen Rosa. Not as far as I'd intended, but I have a rule not to push myself too hard at the moment. #BluePools not very blue today!

It's hard just getting out at this time of year. Every December I set myself the challenge to get #outsideeveryday Starts tomorrow! Join me?
