At this hour, areas of heavy snow are found over much of central, western, and southwestern Newfoundland. I have a reported amount closing in on 20 cm near Wreckhouse.

The roads in many of the aforementioned areas are slick and snow-covered.

Today's sneaky little low has a closed circulation in the lower/mid levels of the atmosphere. This is the reason the snow is intense over much of western Newfoundland this afternoon. Rates ease this afternoon as the low moves north. #nlwx

American Breezy Johnson overwhelmed with emotion after winning the women’s downhill world championship title.

She was the first skier ⛷️ out of the gate today in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

And nobody would catch her the first of the day. Canada’s Cassidy Gray finished 25th.

Canada’s Cam Alexander is undergoing medical evaluation after crashing during a second training run in Austria this morning.

He crashed and then skidded on the snow for a substantial distance. Then he got up under his own steam.

I’ll keep you posted on his status.

Another brilliantly sunny ☀️ day in the Austrian Alps. And I’m fully prepared for it. SPF activated.

Interviews with the Canadian men’s alpine team coming up shortly from the slopes of Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

Welcome to the first full week of February. This morning, we start on the quiet and cold side before the weather turns more active as the day progresses, thanks to an area with low pressure moving in from Quebec. #nlwx

Be the bear …. Kindness matters. Lift people up, encourage others to hang on, or hang in there. Look for opportunities to do a little good and then be prepared to do it. Be kind, always!

As an American, I want to go on record to say, I never voted for this person either time! As a matter of fact, I blame Republican leadership and the SCOTUS for what is going on in my country. These people are evil and many lives will be lost by their actions. I am heartbroken by what is happening!
