Really can't stop loving early Amtrak rainbow era consists 🌈
While it's nice to see a passenger train in matching paint, there's something so appealing about seeing a mixture of passenger rolling stock all together to just "make it work" in the early days of Amtrak

2026 goals are to keep improving my health, would like to get back to where I was in years past physique-wise, but looking just as good internally too!
Might’ve been leaner last year, but definitely not healthy - resting BPM was 80+ with weekly resting tachycardia events from my substance abuse 😱

Personally, idk how you can’t hear a locomotive‘s horn, but just in case, at one point Union Pacific mounted Federal Signal Thunderbolt air raid sirens to the tops of their DDA40Xs
(And I REALLY want to model a DDA40X with a DCC sound decoder that includes an air raid siren tone)

The old font (bottom) wasn’t anything notable, but this new font (top) reminds me of a model name off a 90s concept car

Sometimes I'll make a typo or mistake in a post online, and let it ride and cringe at the permanence of my error, but then I remember someone took a photo of this Union Pacific M-10000 streamliner train 91 years ago, and captioned it incorrectly as a Southern Pacific train and I don't feel so bad 😊

PHEW, thought my pre-orders for the Rapido Dome Lounges in N Scale were lost in the mail, but they finally arrived!
Very nice models, quite happy with the level of detail! (I would’ve gotten HO Scale but I’ve really not got any rolling stock to pair with them like I do for N Scale)

Didn’t examine this car set super closely at the show, just checked that all the cars were present and in good condition, and now that I have them home to fondle them lovingly, I noticed they had light bars in the ceiling so turns out they’re a lighted set, SCORE!

Also at CalExpo was the Oddities & Curiosities Expo, which I had to also go check out as they had a bunch of hearses parked in front.
Even saw a handful of furries in fursuit, but sadly didn’t get a chance to say hiiiiii and get their picture 😢
